National Award winning director Nagraj Manjule created a stir with his masterpiece Sairat (2016), and has not looked back since then. Sairat broke all records in Marathi cinema. The excitement and news around Sairat hadn’t phased out when another good news came in for the director as Amitabh Bachchan had given a nod to work with him in his first Hindi film, titled Jhund. Nagraj has shared yet another good news with his followers through his Facebook page. He has been invited to be a guest panelist at the Harvard university.
The panel discussion is scheduled for February 16 and 17 and is part of the India Conference 2019. The topic for the panel discussion is – Can popular cinema break the barrier of caste. Nagraj will be seen sharing the stage alongside director Pa Ranjith, former Miss India (Earth) Niharika Singh and producer Bomakku Murali. The moderator for the same is Surag Yengde, who happens to be Nagraj’s friend.
On the work front, Nagraj’s Hindi directorial debut, Jhund, has completed shooting and is in the post-production phase. The film will see Amitabh Bachchan playing Vijay Barse, a retired sports teacher running an NGO.
Nagraj also tried his hand at acting recently in Marathi film Naal.
