Neymar believes Timothy Weah will emerge as one of Europe’s best-attacking players, insisting the USA international will thrive during his loan spell at “big club” Celtic.
Weah joined Celtic on loan last week after mustering just two league appearances for Paris Saint-Germain at the beginning of the season due to players returning late from the World Cup.
The teenager, who is the son of Liberian president and former World Player of the Year George Weah, said upon joining the Hoops he is desperate to win some silverware.
PSG team-mate Neymar believes Weah has made the right decision by joining Celtic and expects the 18-year-old to develop during his time with Brendan Rogers’ title-chasing side.
“It is a very exciting move for him from what I have seen of his talent he has everything to go and be one of the top attacking players in Europe,” Neymar told the Daily Record.
“It is a good move for him, a good move for Celtic as they are getting such a big talent, and also a good move for PSG because he has a chance to get experience and games and come back to us a more complete player.
“He did have options – but he chose the right one. Celtic are a big club, in their league they attack a lot and score a lot of goals, and also they are still in Europe – so they offer him much.”
