Watch Oklahoma country music star Blake Shelton perform an emotional, stripped-down acoustic version of his ballad “Over You” in memory of his friend Troy Gentry Wednesday night at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

Shelton co-hosted with Storme Warren the Troy Gentry Foundation concert in honor of the Montgomery Gentry singer, who died in a 2017 helicopter crash, and surprised the audience with his stirring performance.

The lineup for the concert included Gentry’s bandmate Eddie Montgomery, Rascal Flatts, Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Jon Pardi, Chris Janson, Dustin Lynch, Darryl Worley, Jimmie Allen and more.

Shelton and then-wife Miranda Lambert penned “Over You” about Shelton’s experience losing his older brother in a fatal car accident. Lambert recorded the ballad for her 2011 “Four the Record,” and it won Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music song of the year honors.
