Fleur East is a former X Factor contestant who almost won the show in 2014, but she had previously auditioned for the show in 2005 as part of the girl group Addictiv Ladies. She is known as just Fleur, and is an English singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer and fitness model.
Celebrity PR Ed Hopkins told The Sun Online said: “Someone like Fleur is going to be great on the show and she will bring a lot to the camp.
“But in terms of pay, she needs a publicity boost. Negotiations appeared to go on for a while but I wold think Fleur would have been offered between £50,000 and £70,000.”
However Noel Edmonds is believed to be paid the most for his stint in the jungle, bagging an enormous £600,000.
Reports suggest ITV bosses “have really pushed the boat out this year in terms of signing and have spent more than ever before.
An insider told The Sun: “Harry and Noel are over £1 million between the two of them and they’ve spent good money on the likes of Nick Knowles and Rita Simons too.
“The bookers have been earning and spending their cash well this year.”
Fleur East has been dating French fashion designer Marcel Badiane-Robin since 2011.
She first auctioned for the X Factor in 2005 as a member of the girl group Addictiv Ladies.
However the group were booted out of the competition at the first live show.
She tried unsuccessful to pursue her music career, but the singer said she battled with depression when her career did not take off.
Fleur told the Mirror in 2014: “I was at my lowest point. I was waking up at whatever time and watching repeats of Friends in my pyjamas all day, every day.
“There was nothing in my diary – no gigs, nothing going on. I was like, ‘what am I going to do with my life?’
“There was no motivation in me – there wasn’t even any drive to get up in the morning because what’s the point? I was definitely depressed. Looking back, I’m like ‘who was that’?”
However after encouragement from her friends and family, she auditioned for the X Factor again and this time got through to the finals.
Her performance of Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and singer Bruno Mars was hailed by Cowell as one of the show’s top three performances.
Even though she missed out to Ben Haenow in the final, she was signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco label, releasing debut album Love, Sax and Flashbacks.
The lead single Sax peaked at number 3 in the UK Singles Charts in 2015.
Fleur is thought to be putting the finishing touches to her second album after signing to Hunter Corp Records.
