After SRK, Riteish to play a dwarf man in Marjaavaan?
After the smashing success of Satyameva Jayate, director Milap Milan Zaveri has gone on floors with his next, Marjaavaan, that stars Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. Riteish Deshmukh, who has been busy promoting his Marathi film Mauli, will join the shoot in a couple of days from now.
While the details pertaining to the cast have been kept under wraps by the makers, a report by Bollywood Hungama claims that Riteish is playing a vertically challenged man in the film. While there is no confirmation on this as yet, it is certain that Riteish has a very important role in the film. If this, by any chance, turns out to be true, Riteish will be the second Hindi film actor after Shah Rukh Khan (Zero) to play a dwarf man in recent times.
The film will mark the second collaboration between Sidharth, Riteish and Milap after Ek Villain. Milap had written the dialogues of the 2014 film, which was directed by Mohit Suri.
Talking about Marjaavaan, Milap had earlier told a leading entertainment news portal, “Marjaavaan is a very powerful film. There’s a beautiful love story. It’s an angry love and not a popcorn love. I think people loved the tagline: Ishq Mein Marenge Bhi, Maarenge Bhi.” (Marjaavaan starring Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria, Rakul Preet goes on floors – first look inside!)
Sharing a still of himself from the shoot, Sidharth wrote on Instagram on Friday, “Ishq aur inteqaam ka koi mazhab nahi, koi ek Rab nahi! #Marjaavaan Shoot begins today!”
Marjaavaan is a joint production venture between T-Series Films and Emmay Entertainment.
