2.0 box office collection day 9
Though before the release 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar was expected to wreak havoc at the box office but, after the release when the reviews and response to the film were mixed, it seemed doubtful. However, the Rs 543 crore VFX wonder has braved all odds and is making a fair amount of money at the box office. The biggest surprise for the trade is that the way 2.0 has shown good hold at Hindi box office.
In fact, in its Hindi version, the major business of 2.0 has come from North India where Hindi dubbed South Indian films don’t usually work. Well, that can easily be credited to the star power of Akshay Kumar. After ending its week one on a good note, 2.0 started its second weekend strongly as it made Rs 5.85 crore, despite the competition in the form of the new release, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starrer Kedarnath. By earning Rs 5.85 crore on its day 9, 2.0 has now taken its 9-day total to Rs 145.60 crore. The movie is all set to cross Rs 150 crore mark and beat the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan. Talking about 2.0′s business, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#2Point0 stayed strong, despite a new release [#Kedarnath] eating into the screens, shows and footfalls… Expected to show substantial growth on second Sat and Sun… Will cross ₹ 150 cr today… [Week 2] Fri 5.85 cr. Total: ₹ 145.60 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version.”

The big question now is if 2.0 can go past Rs 200 crore or not? The hold in its second week will tell.
