The George is previewing iconic US pop star Mariah Carey’s new album this Thursday.
The singer’s fifteenth studio album, ‘Caution’, will receive its Irish debut in the famous LGBT club/bar.
The event will be hosted by one of Ireland’s favourite drag queens, Davina Divine.
While it is not confirmed whether the singer will be in attendance, the staff have promised “lots of suprises” on the night.
This will be Mariah’s first studio release in four years. Set for release on November 16, Mariah has already teased fans with the lead single ‘With You’.
Her last album, “Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse”, received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics.
Mariah Carey has somewhat of an affinity with her Irish fans.
Whilst she regularly makes pitstops to Dublin on her world tours, Mariah has also spoken openly about her Irish heritage.
In an interview with Paper Magazine, she spoke about her diva like antics were due to her half Irish-mother.
She said: “I guess it’s a little intense, because I come from a true diva: My mother is an opera singer.”
She spoke of her mother Patricia Hickey who was born and raised in Illinois, but whose parents were Irish emigrants from Cork.
And that’s a real diva, you know – Juilliard diva. And so other people that are like, ‘I’m a diva,’ it’s like, ‘Honey, you don’t know what a diva is, you didn’t grow up with my mom”.
