Chandigarh Congress attacks Narendra Modi, asks if demonetization stopped circulation of black money

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Congress protested in Sector 46 on the second anniversary of demonetization on Friday. Former Union minister Pawan Bansal and Chandigarh Congress president Pradeep Chabbra criticised the Modi government for demonetization on the occasion stating that it ruined the country’s economy.
Raising questions Pawan Bansal asked whether the BJP has been able to stop terrorism, Naxal attacks, circulation of black money and fake notes due to demonetisation. Pawan Bansal further questioned that the Modi government has stated that the counterfeit currency notes will be caught in excessive quantities, but from 15.44 lakh crores notes in circulation, only 58.30 crore fake notes were found. He added with the remaining fake notes nowhere to be found, the BJP will suffer in 2019 elections.
Pradeep Chhabra said the tall claims made by Narendra Modi-led government on attacking terrorism and Naxalites are turning out to be hollow. He said since demonetization, there have been 86 major attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 127 jawans and 99 civilians were killed. He added that there have also been incidents of 1,030 Naxal attacks in which 114 jawans were killed.
“15 lakh people lost their jobs due to demonetisation. Country’s economy also suffered by Rs 3 lakh crore. BJP should tell was demonetization all about converting black money into white,” Chhabra said.
During the protest organized by senior leader Jatinder Bhatia and block president Sushil Sowat, protesters raised slogans like ‘Chowkidaar Chor Hai’, ‘demonetization is a scam’ and ‘It is notDiwalibut Diwala’.
