Just few more hours to go for the inauguration of the prestigious 24th Kolkata International Film Festival 2018. Kolkata Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be doing the honours with prominent personalities across the film fraternity and world of politics in attendance. As Mamata Banerjee even took up to Twitter a few hours back and wrote, “Welcome to #Kolkata @SrBachchan Ji, @iamsrk, Jaya Di, Waheeda Rehman Ji, @MaheshNBhatt Ji, @nanditadas, Biswajit (Da) Chatterjee, Majid Majidi, Phillip Noyce,Jil Bilcock, Simon Baker & every dignitary.Looking forward to a memorable evening with you at #KIFF2018 inaugural ceremony.”
Mamata Banerjee will be hosting the inaugural event at the Netaji Indoor Stadium from 4 pm today whereas the film festival will go on till the 17 th of November. Not to mention, the highlight of this year’s festival is that it celebrates 100 years of Bengali Cinema. So the list of films to be screened will include some brilliant masterpieces from Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak, Mrinal Sen among others. Not to mention, Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero too will have its World Premiere at the KIFF. The superstar will be showing the Zero trailer today at the inaugural function today followed by his words of wisdom and cinema.
